Good afternoon everyone,
As most of you have already heard our 2020 season has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This news has hit everyone pretty hard and in all honesty is very unfortunate for all of our players, coaches, and families. Even more difficult for our senior athletes and their families. At some point I would still like to do a "Senior Night" of some sort. I would like to get all senior players and their parents on the field one last time for pictures and festivities. I wish that there was something that we could do to go back in time and finish what we started. As for now, we will start moving forward to a "new" normal now that Governor Little has announced his 4 stages for return.
WE had a spring coaches meeting with our AD this morning about uniform returns and possibly doing an end of year banquet (depending on many things).
Thursday May 7th (our assigned day) we will be collecting all uniforms, belts, pants, wristbands, and helmets from 3:00-7:00 at VHS. At this time we will also hand out JV certificates, varsity letters and pins, spirit pack items, spring sport pictures, and hopefully senior night gifts (from the coaching staff).
Baseball will have all 6 coaches lined up to hopefully make everything go a little more smooth. We will have all coaches collect items (does not depend on what team you are on). Each coach will collect three items. These items will need to be in a bag of some sort. We have a master spreadsheet of all items passed out at the beginning of the season to help aid in the process as well.
#1 - Pants, belt, and wristbands. JV should have 2 pairs of pants and Varsity should have 3.
#2 - Uniform tops. JV should have 2 and Varsity should have 3.
#3 - Helmets - JV players should have a brown helmet and Varsity should have a gold helmet.
As far as summer baseball goes we are awaiting to see what our Governor is going to recommend come April 30. We are still planning to have a summer season with our players at Vallivue. When we get more news on this we will update everyone as well. Keep your fingers crossed that everything will start getting better much quicker than anticipated. However, like I said, I believe we will have a summer season this year. If your son is interested in playing this summer please reach out to me via email, text, and/or call.
I want all of you to know how much the entire coaching staff cares about your son. From all of our views of what we miss the most, it is without a doubt being around our players. They mean the absolute world to us and not being around them on a daily basis has taken its toll on us. It is one thing that I always would look forward to. We love them very much and are sad and upset things have gone the way they have.
On behalf of the coaching staff I just want to tell all of our seniors how much we love them and will miss them. This group is one of the most unselfish, caring, loveable , and fun to be around classes that we have had at Vallivue in my tenure. It makes my heart hurt knowing that we are not able to end the year on our terms. We wish them the very best in all that they do. I can not wait to hug them one more time!!
Please stay tuned for more updates on announcements. We will also be doing a social media recognition for all our senior athletes as well.
I wish nothing but the continued best for all our players and families. Please stay safe and all the coaches look forward to seeing you May 7.

CONGRATULATIONS TO TANNER!! (Release provided by NNU)
TANNER VOGT (VALLIVUE HIGH SCHOOL IN CALDWELL, IDAHO) Tanner Vogt
The 5-foot-11 middle infielder will give the Crusaders another star defender along with an offensive threat with speed and the ability to hit for a high average.
A two-time All-5A Southern Idaho Conference selection, Vogt most recently earned First Team honors as a junior as he hit .404 with 19 RBIs, seven doubles and two triples for Vallivue. He also stole 8-of-10 bases and had a slugging percentage of .528.
"We believe Tanner may be the best defensive recruit in the Treasure Valley," Musgraves said. "He's been well taught at Vallivue High School by former NNU player and assistant baseball coach, Justin Schneidt."
A two-sport star for the Falcons who also plays basketball, Vogt is equally talented in the classroom as he's maintained a 3.35 GPA.
